August Trip to New Jersey

I could easily change the date of this post to August 18, to make myself look good. But, if I recall, the race isn't won by the hare.

Here's hoping it's a good, long race.

While we were visiting family in New Jersey, a couple of other California relatives were also there, cousins Anne and Leah. Anne was nice enough to send an email with photos that she took of the whole family, and Sarah was nice enough to put those photos into a single, online photo album. Before Vacation...

We returned last night from a great family vacation in Cape May Point, New Jersey, where Meg whiled away long, hot days every summer during her junior high and high school years. I feel lucky that we get to share in this fun, relaxing, hilarious, and "leisurely active" tradition each year.

Both kids absolutely loved being in the ocean this year, which was ridiculously fun. I also dug holes in the sand whenever possible.

But you'll see photos of those happy, humid days in a future photo album. Say, three months from now.   :^)

Quarterly Report

Do I know you?

Scrolling through this photo album just now made me realize that there are about zilch photos of friends and family. We saw much of friends (huzzah!) and not quite enough of the Forrests and the luminous Janet Messman (though you'll see pics in the album!)... we even had a visit from Ma Judy and Blair aka "Poppa Bear," who watched the kids while Meg and I enjoyed the lushness (aka record rainfall) of Kauai.  Alas, you wouldn't know any of that going by the photos alone. I'll try to make amends soon.

There is at least one video in the "photo album"--of wedding dancing, no less!
