1015 Salisbury Welcomes Us Back

Photos taken between March 5 and 8, 2009.

The Conways and a group of friends--13 of us in all--returned to the same Lake Tahoe cabin that we rented last year for another memorable weekend.

Good games...

Tim leads the group in a game of 'Mafia.'

The townspeople vote to hang another suspected mafia member.

Mike explains the subtleties of 'Rail Baron.'

Do you have what it takes to build a railroad empire--no matter what it takes?

Good faces...

Good laps...

Good times...

Good ending...

...this one bears explanation, actually. When Meg and I left the cabin to drive home, traffic was thick. We played kiss-the bumper in stop-and-go traffic with a big, white pickup truck for over an hour. Look at the photo below, under the truck's license plate where a hitch would normally be. Do you see something... different? Can you tell what it is? (I'll tell you below.)

If you guessed that the object pictured is a (1) silver skull with eyes that glow red every time the driver touches the brakes, or (2) Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Terminator whose eyes glow red every time the driver touches the brakes, please give yourself a gold star. Close-up below.

Actually, the head is a Cyberdyne model 101C, as can clearly be seen by the bi-layered meta-scanner above the right mandible. The 101 was only produced at the beginning of the war and soon abandoned for the deadlier 101B and C prototypes. Clearly you weren't listening when John Connor gave his lecture. Now where are my dice?

And your kid is super cute too!
